    The Czech transmission system operator NET4GAS is the host company of the Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE) Annual Conference in Prague in June 2017.

    NET4GAS is the holder of an exclusive licence as the Gas Transmission System Operator (TSO) in the Czech Republic. The company provides sufficient transmission capacities to satisfy both domestic and foreign demand and guarantees non-discriminatory access. NET4GAS has been providing the safe and reliable transmission of natural gas for more than 40 years, being the successor of Tranzitní plynovod (Transgas), a company established in 1971.

    NET4GAS at a glance

    • Transmits about 45 billion m3 of natural gas each year (of which around 15 % is for domestic consumption)
    • Operates more than 3,800 km of pipelines
    • Operates three border transfer stations, four compressor stations, and nearly a hundred transfer stations at the interface with domestic gas distribution
    • Is a member of the Czech Gas Association, the international organisations ENTSOG, GIE, EASEE-gas, and the IGU and Marcogaz working groups
    • Has more than 500 employees
    • Is one of the largest private corporate donors to nature conservation in the Czech Republic

    GasNaturally is an initiative of 6 gas associations – Eurogas, GERG, GIE, IGU, Marcogaz, OGP – to showcase the benefits of gas to policymakers. Since it started 4 years ago, GasNaturally has organized successfully a Gas Week in the European Parliament, a Member States and other workshops.
